Dniester Youth Summer School – 2024

The Dniester Youth Summer School 2024 was organized by Eco-TIRAS NGO in July also on the bank of the river with participation of 70 youngsters from both banks, including 4 Ukrainians with the ten-days-duration. It was supported by UNDP Moldova with the Swedish funding. Duration – 10 days. The issues covered: the European environmental legislatuion and the integration process, Dniester trans-boundary cooperation, climate change and water resources, biodiversity challenges and conservation, Dniester River basin management plans, water and health and public participation in environmental decision making. Highly qualified experts took part in trainings. Among them Rodica Iordanov, Radu Cazacu, Ana Jeleapov etc. Also, it was organized a week-duration educational expedition on Dniester by kayaks with support of UNDP&EU. In one-week-duration expedition which covered the middle sector of the river from the village of Vadul Rascov to the village Molovata Noua, participated 30 persons – universities’ students and lecturers, journalists, academics and NGOs from both banks. Both events permitted to raise the awareness of the youth on actual Dniester River basin management issues.
